Look and Feel
The Vespa is largely identical to the Hornet, only it was built for mass consumption. It lacks the more complex components of a Hornet and thus is easier for the rest of the Galaxy (and decaying Trader Arks that lack the infrastructure they once had) to repair and maintain. It also replaces the armored neural-interface pod with a cockpit with a large, forward facing transparent canopy, considered by most military specialists to be a dangerous weakpoint of the design. It tends to be more popular with the military forces of the Umbral Rim, and human Belters and colonists on remote worlds who lack the hyperium to maintain a proper fighter, but have sufficient charging capacity to run a small squadron of Vespa.
